Inhalt Zusammenfassung

Abstract

High performance polymers (HPP) and a lot of engineering polymers show under dry sliding conditions bad tribological properties. With the development of chemically coupled/compatibilized polymer-PTFE compounds innovative sliding bearing materials with stable processing morphology are available. In summary it can be emphasized that the manufacturing of chemically coupled PTFE-thermoplastic materials can be carried out by reactive melt processing in commercial equipment. And its further processing under usual processing conditions (injection moulding, sintering) is possible without any problems. Furthermore it has to be established that the modification of thermoplastic matrices with micro particles of PTFE improves the frictional and wear properties of these compounds significantly and the effects of stick-slip-friction are disabled.
